Orlando's Districts vs San Diego's

I love the signs welcoming you to each district.  Could Orlando and Central Florida have a similar system?  Imagine what each area could look like if we had large statues at the entrance of each district.  The Milk District, Parramore, ViMi, SoDo, Pine Hills, Loch Haven, Conway, University, Thornton Park, etc., Each of these has its own flavor and history that could be celebrated through a comprehensive design plan.

Unlike other cities Orlando has unique architecture in district already helping to define these areas.  With a focus on presevering this unique aspect of each community Orlando could create design standards for each area that intergrate the pre-exisiting buildings while introducing the unique focus on the district itself.
The Little Saigon District could have signs in both English and Vietnamese, College Park could have more neon and art deco, and the Milk District could have industrial design standards introduced.

With the city's acceptance and embracing of these districts and with the confirmation by introducing unique icons in each district Orlando could quickly become a city where every corner is warmly discovered and explored by resident and visitor alike!
